Akhtar Hussain completed his PhD in Electrical Engineering from Incheon National University, Korea. He has worked in a Korean Power System Automation and Protection company after his Masters. He has published several internal journal articles in top tier journals during his research tenure. His research work is primarily focused on Microgrids, Energy management, and smart grids.
Currently, he is working as a Postdoctoral Researcher and Visiting Professor at Incheon National University, Korea. He is also co-supervising several MS students in Power & Renewable Energy lab, Department of Electrical Engineering, Incheon National University, Korea.
He has been in the field of power systems and microgrids since 2012 and has hands on experience with multiple languages and frameworks including Matlab, Java, Python, C/C++, VHDL/Verilog, CPLEX, etc. His research focus has been on power system automation and protection, energy management in microgrids, integration of demand response, electric vehicles, and renewables, resilience-oriented operation of microgrids, and sizing of energy components.
